Is a day set aside to recognize the importance of women and their achievements to national development. This is done irrespective of their national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political background’ IWD enables women to look back on the struggles and important past achievements with a view of unraveling the immense gift or potentials that future generation of women needs to explore. The 8 th of march is now annually celebrated in some countries while some have even made it to be an official holiday for women take the examples in Nepal, Madagascar, China, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Mongolia and Zambia.
