Alleged Billionaire Kidnapper Evans Plea of Guilty, Coercion By Police Says Lawyer.

Evans pleads guilty to kidnap charges…will change his plea to not guilty at next sitting – Lawyer The notorious kidnap kingpin, Chukwudubem Onwuamadike alias Evans on Wednesday pleaded guilty to the kidnapping charges preferred against him. Evans and his five other accomplices were arraigned before a Lagos State High Court on two counts bordering on kidnap. However, shortly after the day’s proceeding, counsel to the accussed person, Mr. Olukoya Ogungbeje, said the police coerced his client to plead guilty to the kidnapping charges before a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja on Wednesday. Describing the plea as police-motivated, Ogungbeje said the police threatened to kill Onwuamadike, who is widely known as Evans, if he failed to plead guilty. Ogungbeje, in a statement on the letter head of his law firm, Lawflex Chambers, which was e-mailed to Punch after the Wednesday’s proceedings, said his client would change his plea to “not guilty” at the next court sitting. Suya seller caught before he could slaughter a four year old girl. The outgoing Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Mr. Fatai Owoseni confirmed the arrest of a roasted meat seller popularly known as suya who allegedly attempted to slaughter a four year old girl perhaps for Suya or ritual purposes. Eyewitness report gave that the little girl was playing with her mates in an open playing ground around White sand, Ebute Meta when Abdulahi allegedly abducted her to a hidden area where he attempted to slaughter her. Passersby however saw the criminal trying to murder the four year old and raised the alarm which led to the child’s rescue. Trying to resist arrest, the hoodlum however attacked some of the rescuers, stabbing one person and biting another. Fatai Owoseni Steps Aside for a New CP for Lagos State. The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has appointed, Imohimi Edgar, as the new Commissioner of Police in-charge-of the Lagos State Command, following Edgar’s recent promotion to by the Police Service Commission. ‎ Edgar, a seasoned police officer, who was until his promotion, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, in-charge-of Operations, in Lagos State, was instrumental in ending activities of the dreaded Badoo cult and militants carrying out kidnappings within Ikorodu and its adjoining communities. He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force, as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, on February 2, 1986, serving in various commands and formations of the NPF within the country in several capacities, spending most of his days at the Lagos State Police Command.
