UN Says Nigeria Government Lied, Insists Three Borno Local Government Areas Are Cut Off By Boko Haram Boko Haram are alleged to be occupying atleast three local government areas in Nigeria, the United Nations has said. The claim is coming weeks after the military command in northeast Nigeria announced that no part of Borno state was under the control of the deadly group. But the UN said despite efforts by the military, some locations in Borno state, including three whole local government areas, remained inaccessible to aid workers as a result of the threat posed by the Boko Haram sect. The report was issued by the United Nations’ Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian (OCHA). Buhari Speaks On Recalled Pension Thief, Abdulrasheed Maina. Just after Minister of Interior, retired Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, confirmed the resumption of duty by former Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Mr. Abdulrasheed Maina, as an Acting Director in his ministry, President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered for the immediate sack of Mr. Abdulrasheed Maina from service. Buhari on Monday directed the immediate dismissal of Abdulrasheed Maina, a civil servant who went missing for years after being declared wanted for corruption, but was recently reinstated to a higher post. The president said the circumstances of Mr. Maina’s return to the civil service must be investigated. A statement by presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina, said Mr. Buhari had ordered “immediate disengagement of Mr Abdulrasheed Maina from service.” The president directed the Head of Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita, to submit to the office of the Chi
