DEATH OF A MEDICAL DOCTOR INSIDE HIS CAR IN A PARKING LOT OF HOSPITAL AFTER NIGHT DUTY LEFT COLLEAGUES, POLICE CLUELESS SO AWAITS AUTOPSY.
Doctors and
staffs of Kenyatta National Hospital were thrown into confussion and shock when
a medical doctor who worked a night duty at the hospital was discovered inside
his car at the parking lot dead. The mystery surrounding his dead is yet to be
ascertained.
The doctor
was name was given as Dr Paul Koigi Ngugi, a Kenyan medical doctor was
found dead in his car hours after he had finished his night shift at the
Kenyatta National Hospital.
The
Standard news reports that Dr Paul Koigi Ngugi was found dead in his car that
had been parked at the KNH parking yard long after he had gone missing.
His colleagues at the institution said he left
for home and had not complained of any ill health.
When he
failed to come home as usual, his family became worried and started searching
for him. They later went to KNH police station and reported that he was
missing.
As the
security guards at the hospital were conducting normal patrols at the yard when
they found the car still parked on the same spot.
They
told police they realized Dr Ngugi was on the steering but lifeless. He had
locked the car doors and windows.
Nairobi
police boss Japheth Koome said the guards called police who then broke the doors to remove him.
"They
thought he was alive and broke the doors to remove him but fellow doctors who
came to witness confirmed that he was dead," said Koome.
Koome
said they are yet to know cause of death.
Other
colleagues say they suspect he may have opened his car's AC to warm himself
before leaving leading to the death.
"Let
us wait for the autopsy to reveal the cause of the death," said one of his colleagues.
Dr Ngugi
had graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from
Kampala International University (KIU) in 2014 and was a member of the Medical
Practitioners and Dentist Board.
