IRONY AS GOVERNOR NYESOM WIKE IS SET TO HONOUR HIS PREDECESSOR ROTIMI AMECHI.

Rivers State Governor  Nyesom Wike in what many termed as an Irony has added his predecessor and arch-rival, Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, among prominent Rivers sons and daughters and some other notable Nigerians to be honoured by the state.
Those on the 29-man list will be honoured for their individual contributions to the development of the state.
The list was put together by the Jubilee Anniversary Committee set up by the governor.

Former Governor, Chibuike Amaechi’s name is at number 18 of 29 people to be awarded Grand Service Star of Rivers State.
Also in the list are immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan, former Head of States, Yakubu Gowon and late activist, Ken Saro-Wiwa, who would be honoured posthumously.

The awards ceremony is billed to hold on May 27 in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Elders in Igboland should unite and present a uniformed Bride Price and Traditional rites as regards what kinsmen, umuada, umu agboho, etc should be given. In so doing the arbitrary Bride Price and Traditional rites of gifts for various bodies will not be as abused as is obtained today. If a palm wine tapper can marry in a community, what stops a man from USA? There should be a standard bride price for the rich and the poor tapper.

The head coach of Nigeria female U-20 team, Falconets, Christopher Danjuma, said he has players with the experience to beat the Tanzanians in the Africa qualifier for the 2018 female U-20 World Cup. Danjuma who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria（NAN）on Wednesday in Benin, said the team was mentally and physically prepared to face the East African team on Saturday in Benin.
