MUSHIN LG ASPIRANT OF LAGOS STATE ROLLS OUT PLAN FOR HIS PEOPLE
LG chair aspirant rolls out plan for
Mushin people
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a
chairmanship aspirant for Mushin Local Government, Omoshola Omoshebi has vowed
to rid Mushin and its environs of criminal activities that the area is known
for through people oriented programmes if he is elected chairman of the LG in
the forthcoming July 22 council election.
According to Omoshebi who is a United
States trained security expert, he is going into the elections to serve his
people and to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
“I want to serve the people. We have to
change the name of Mushin for good by reducing crime to the barest minimum; my
mission is to turn Mushin around to a replica of Lagos Island and Surulere,” he
said.
“I will work with United States Crime
Prevention Agency who has promised to render all form of assistance to me in
ridding the area of all sorts of criminal activities by bringing in the needed
expertise and gadgets that will make Mushin a crime free zone” he added.
Omoshebi expressed hope that he would
be able to transform Mushin for good while urging the people and party leaders
to give him the mandate when it is time to do so as he has the experience,
connection and wherewithal to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
Speaking further, Omoshebi promised to
set up several empowerment programmes that will benefit the people while vowing
to resuscitate some of the moribund markets in the local government.
He also vowed to eschew all sorts of
multiple taxations that the people in the local government are subjected to
while promising to hold constant stakeholders meeting with the people to know
their needs and filling it.
When asked on the chances of the party
in the forthcoming election, he said the performances of Governor Akinwunmi
Ambode are enough testaments on what the party stands for and has provided a
good leverage for the party to win in all the 20 Local Governments and the 37
Local Council Development Areas during the poll.
Omoshebi however advised all aspiring
candidates to shun do-or die politics, urging them to embrace peace and work
together in unity. He also appealed to youths not to allow themselves to be
used negatively by any politician during the forthcoming election.

Chairmanship aspirant in Mushin Local
Government of Lagos State, Comrade Omoshola Omoshebi, also known as Omojuwa,
has reiterated his commitment to bringing dividends of democracy to the people
of the local government if given the opportunity to serve.
Omojuwa made this known to newsmen in
Mushin during the official declaration of his intention to run for the local
government elections under the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress
(APC).
He noted that the time is ripe to
change the narratives about Mushin, stating that the local government is
blessed with resourceful youths who would readily embrace better lives if
offered.
"My mission is to turn Mushin
around to a replica of Surulere or even Lagos Island. I know my people and they
know me too. I was on the street with them in the past, I understand their
language and will give them that sense of belonging.
"A lot of things have to change.
We have to change our name for good, we have to change the way we think in
Mushin, and we have to inject certain positivity into the system." He
noted.
Speaking further, the America trained
security expert stressed that he is in the race basically to give service to
the good people of Mushin. He said he would work vigorously towards crime
prevention and promotion of peace in the local government.
"Youths would be picked from each
Ward and given some weeks training on security issues. They would work with
Neighborhood Watch and help stem crime in the community.
"To do this, I will use my
personal relationship with some international crime prevention associations to
secure grants. I am a member of the US Crime Prevention Association, this will
make it easier to get them to train the youths."
The graduate of John Jay College of
Criminal Justice, New York noted further that his priority would include giving
a facelift to basic education and primary healthcare.
On infrastructure for the local
government, Omoshebi stated that he would offer palliative measures on roads, and
where they are bigger than what the local government could do, he promised to
get the state government assistance claiming that the state is blessed with a
listening governor.
He emphasised that the people would be
duly carried along during his administration. "Projects would be awarded
to capable hands within the local government."
To ensure transparency and
accountability, Omoshebi said his administration, if elected, would have
monthly interactive session with the populace.
He
also promised to lower levies and taxes, and rather focus on opening new
markets while ensuring ease of doing business within Mushin local government
