Is no more news that the security operatives namely DSS and the Nigeria Police, have called on the Independent National Electoral Commission {INEC} to shift the governorship election slated in Edo State this Saturday. The news in town is that INEC has categorically called the bluff the alarmist who said that through their information gathering, some unscrupulous elements are planning to attack Edo State and some other targeted States in Nigeria. INEC in affirming their independent said after meeting with stakeholders and having taken critical look on the said Security Reports, have vowed to go ahead with the scheduled election this Saturday. We are waiting to get formal confirmation from INEC as reliably gathered from a source who affirmed that a statement must be made today. the uncertainty of this election has posed problem to many artisans in Edo State as their daily bread depends on their going out daily to fend for their families in  a nation with no social benefits to it...

28 MILLION CHILDREN HOMELESS SAYS UNICEF.

In a new UNICEF report released on Wednesday, it says that more than 28 million children have been driven out of their homes by conflicts and violence all over the world. The report which was released in New York said the figure includes 10 million child refugees and 17 million internally displaced children.                                                                                          UNICEF report found that a total of 50 million children are either refugees, internally displaced inside their  own countries or migrants searching for better life abroad due to gang violence and poverty. SHOCKER! NEW BORN BABY BOY FOUND DEAD IN REFUSE DUMP.

Terrifing residents of Gwallameji of Bauchi metropolis, Tuesday woke up to a shocking discovery of a corpse of a newborn baby boy in a refuse dump. The boy was wrapped in a cloth placed inside a polythene bag dumped at a refuse bin by the road. The residents rained curses to the yet unknown evil woman of the act. Many shocked why a woman who carried a pregnancy for nine months will give birth and then throw the child away. “This is an act of wickedness. How can someone do this when several people are looking for children?” a woman wondered. The Nigeria Sports Minister Solomon Dalung, has declared a state of emergency in the country’s sports industry. This he said is to awaken the comatose state of our sports. He want stakeholders and Nigerians to critically look at the sector with a view to repositioning it to the level Nigeria sports were 20 years ago when the likes of Mary Onyeali, Innocent Egbunike etc where making Nigeria proud. Dalung called on all stakeholder, sports loving Nigerians to come together in lifting the sports industry out of it's present poor state. LASG HAS SEALED 37 ILLEGAL PHARMACEUTICAL OUTLETS.

The Lagos State Government weekend sealed over 37 illegal pharmaceutical outlets in their effort to check and stop the tide of counterfeit and fake drugs as well as to combat the dangers posed by the activities of illegal operators. Addressing the media on a recent raid in Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary Healthcare, Dr. Olufemi Onanuga ssid that 37 outlets out of 49 visited in Ikorodu Central, Agric, Agbede, Ita-Oluwo, Eyita, Odongunyan, Igbogbo, Itamaga and Ijede were sealed off for offences ranging from being quacks, licensed patent medicine shops operating beyond their area of specialisation, illegal sale of ethical products and dispensing drugs to unsuspecting citizens of the state.  Other offenders include; illegal operatives of unregistered premises who displayed and stored drugs in an unconducive environment. FG's Tax on Phone calls Rejected by SERAP.

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability group has rejected the plan by the plan by the Federal Government to impose 10% tax on every phone calls, text message sent and data used by Nigerians. The group urged President Muhammadu Buhari led government to roll out Social protection to ameliorate the suffering of Nigerians caused by the harsh economy instead of imposing more misery through this tax. SERAP said the recent economic recession has worsened the plight of the underprivileged in the society who for years have been suffering from corruption, abuse of power and underdevelopment in Nigeria. In an open letter by their Senior Staff counsel Mr Timothy Adewale on Sunday all this was said to the FG.
