WORLD CELEBRATES TEACHERS DAY 5 OCTOBER 2017

World Teachers' Day, also known as International Teachers Day, is held annually on October 5 since 1994, commemorates teacher organizations worldwide. Its aim is to mobilize support for teachers and to ensure that the needs of future generations will continue to be met by teachers. The celebration brings together governments, multi and bilateral organizations, NGOS, private sectors, experts and teachers in the field of teaching. There is hardly any profession that did not pass through a teacher. It is often said that the most good teachers challenge us and instil in us passion for learning. Teachers also spark within us the desire to find answers. Teachers are like candle, parent and hero who are always there for the students. Teachers take our hands, saw the potential in us and wake up our imagination and gave us wisdom. Teachers should be treasured as a gem. Thanking all good teachers all over the world for adding color and substance to our knowledge of life. But in Nigeria teachers are underpaid yet I appreciate all my teachers from creche to higher institution.
