TRAGEDY AS 18 MONTH OLD PUPIL GOT CRUSHED BY SCHOOL BUS IN LAGOS

Tragedy struck on thursday by 1.20pm at a private scholl known as Bessie Internationsl School located at Wahab Larinde Street Mafoluku Oshodi area of Lagos State, when an 18 month old pupil of the school lost her life after being hit by the very school bus at the enterance gate.
The bus with the number plate JJJ393BU owned by the school, had horned to enter the premises, the gateman who was sitting with the deseased girl known as Memuna Lamidi on a bench left her to attend to the gate. The little girl who is in the Creche Class of the school left the bench and followed the gateman who was unaware of her current position. While he opened one side of the gate, going to the other side of the gate, Memunat walked into the path of the bus whose driver never knew of her presence and consequently she was hit.
Memunat was rushed to the hospital where she lost the battle. The entire school was thrown into mourning as such has never happened in the school before. The mother of the little girl has been taken to relations house to control her shock and disbelief of losing such a daughter at a tender age.
Some resdents who want to remain anonimous, blamed the incident on the drivers lack of concentration. Is also likely the family of the dead girl will press for charges against the school management.
Reporters where barred by the gatemen from gaining access to the school management with flimsy excuses that "they are in a meeting or are busy". The Lagos State Police Command PRO, SP Dolapo Badmos comfirmed the accident and said investigation is on going.
Before going to the press, no official statement has been made by the Management of BESSIE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL. May the soul of little Memunat rest in perfect peace and Gods strength to her parents.
