According to a Facebook user, named Ideozu Hanson, a man identified as Chidom has allegedly committed suicide yesterday, after he tested positive to HIV in Rivers State. Below is how the Facebook user, is reporting it, "His name is Chidom from Ozochi community in Ahoada East LGA, Rivers State. This just happened in my neighbourhood in Ahoada. He decided to hang himself just because he tested positive to HIV, after discovering his status, he said he was going to kill himself and he did. He left four children and a wife. He is still hanging in the bush as I post" Chidom hanged The sad, incident was said to have taken place yesterday Sunday. BIZARE!Nigerian Man Impregnated Wife’s Younger Sister, Kills Baby 5 Days After BIRTH. BIZARE! The police in Bayelsa State have apprehended a 47-year-old man, Moses Otimba, for killing a five-day-old baby boy he fathered with the younger sister of his pregnant wife. The suspect, according to Punch reports was said to have impregnated the girl, Joy, and allegedly killed the child and buried it in a shallow grave near a river. Otimba, an indigene of Ogbogoro community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state, was said to have carried out the act in connivance with Joy in order to hide the paternity of the baby. Joy, 18, allegedly refused to disclose the identity of the father of her unborn baby throughout the nine months she was pregnant. She lived with her sister and Otimba throughout the period. The Guild Of Professional Bloggers Of Nigeria (GPBN) an umbrella body of Bloggers set up to regulate the activities of blogging in Nigeria has been formally registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). The development is contained in a Press Statement signed by the Acting Publicity Secretary of the body, Miss Helen Ozor in Lagos on Wednesday. According to her, the registration process which took quite some time to complete was received with so much applause and excitement from industry and media stakeholders across the country finally legitimizing the Association as the authentic body to regulate the practice of blogging in Nigeria. As part of the way forward, the Association has set up various committees to mobilize more members to join the group. The University of Ilorin Kwara State in Central Nigeria, has emerged the 2017 university of first choice among student-applicants as the foremost citadel of learning in the Country, followed by 17 others from 148 officially recognised universities in Nigeria drawn from the Federal, State and Private institutions, the Economic Confidential can authoritatively report. In a new report obtained and carefully computed and analysed by the Economic Intelligence magazine from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on the preferred first university of choice in 2017, the University of Ilorin has the highest applications with 104,038 student-applicants. The figure represents almost about 10 percent of the 1,212,818 total applicants seeking admissions into the 40 Federal Universities in Nigeria.
