APC national leader Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu finally opens up on why he was worried when governor Ambode of Lagos State assumes office. On Wednesday in Alimosho while commissioning Abesan Aboru Bridge, Tinubu said he was afraid because of the huge debt the governor inherited from his predecessor ex-governor Babatunde Raji Fashola. Tinubu called gov. Ambode a Silent Achiever who has done a lot despite having a huge debt of N418.2 billion. He said his worries  was not based on Ambode Credibility, Character or Capacity but saying no matter how wise or smart a man may be, if there is no resources to backup his ideas, production and progress will be zero.

The Directorate of State Security (DSS) has urged media practitioners, especially bloggers to see themselves as stakeholders in the Nigerian project. This was made  on Wednesday  by the Lagos State Director of the Agency when a delegation of Guild of Professional Bloggers of Nigeria, led by its President Chris Kehinde Nwandu (CKN) paid a courtesy visit to the State Headquarters of the Security Agency in Lagos. Represented by her Deputy, Mr Ahmed, the DSS asked the media to act as partners with Security Agencies in the country to rid Nigeria of criminals and undesirable elements as it is the norm in advanced countries. The Agency which frowned at the level of crime being perpetrated by some unpatriotic Nigerians stated that rate of crime in Nigeria compared to what is obtainable in other advanced countries is not as high as being magnified by the media. WORLD WATER DAY, UNICEF BLAMES SCARCITY OF WATER ON DROUGHT AND CONFLICTS IN NIGERIA AND OTHER COUNTRIES

Approximately one in four children worldwide will live in regions with extremely scarce water resources by 2040, UNICEF said in a report Wednesday. The Agency noted that drought and conflict are factors behind water scarcity in parts of Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan and Yemen, the report says. Nearly 1.4 million children in those areas facing “imminent risk of death” from famine. In research released on World Water Day, the United Nations children’s agency warned that in just over two decades nearly 600 million children will be living in areas with severely limited safe water sources, as population growth and surging demand for water clash with the effects of climate change. Rising temperatures and droughts can leave children at risk for dehydration, according to UNICEF, while increased rain and flooding can destroy sanitation infrastructure and help spread water-borne diseases like cholera.
